Dear Grade Four Guardians/Parents,

 

            It’s hard to believe its December already. As you are probably aware we are starting to prepare for our “People of the Past” celebration on Friday, December 15th. We are very excited and eager to share the day. You will be getting a personal invitation to come the day of the celebration. Please start getting clothes of the past ready for your child as we will be dressed in clothing of the past that day. That day we will be doing some pioneer activities. If you know of anyone that is willing to come in and teach the following skills, please write the name and  number  in your child’s agenda. Some of the different activities I am looking for are;

 

  1. Knitting
  2. Quilting
  3. craving soap
  4. Tying knots
  5. Old Hunting material (muskets, traps, etc.)
  6. Baking biscuits
  7. Old Tools
  8.  Butter Churning
  9. Weaving baskets
  10. Other

 

Also, if you know of anyone that has collected a lot of artifacts from the past and would be willing to come in and be a guest speaker, please let me know by writing in your child’s agenda. I would like your child to bring in one (1) old knitted wool sock of the past as we will be celebrating Christmas in the past too.

 

 

Also, we will be asking you to bake some cupcakes for our bake sale on Wednesday, December 13th. If you want to you can buy the cupcakes from the local grocery stores if you find it more convenient this time of year. Thank you for all your support throughout the year. All the money goes towards our “BIG” field trip in June. Last month’s bake sale we raised about $105.00. J
