Bienvenue! Grade 10 French
Throughout the semester, students will continue to develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in the French language. This will be accomplished by using the text and workbook Voyages 1, Le folklore urbain, along with authentic documents wherever possible.
Students are expected to come to class prepared and willing to participate. All assignments are to be completed on time. Late work will receive a deduction of 10% for each day it is late past the assigned due date. Maximum value lost on overdue assignments is 50%. Students are responsible for work missed as a result of an absence due to illness, sports, or for any other reason. (No marks will be deducted for absences due to an excused illness.)
Plagiarism on assignments or tests, in any form (including online translators), will not be tolerated. Students who plagiarize work will receive a 0 for the assignment and will be referred to the office as described in the student handbook.
Students are requested to bring the following items to class:
-3 ring binder for notes and assignments
-pencils and pen (blue or black ink)
-duo-tang/journal for weekly journal entries
-good French-English dictionary
The Grade 10 French class will be marked as follows:
Compréhension orale 20%
Production orale interactive 20%
Production orale non-interactive 20 %
Production écrite 20%
Comprehénsion écrite 20%
Extra help is available by request, with an appointment time arranged before 8:30, at lunch, or after school.
