The Secret Test

Are you smart about keeping secrets?

Answer true or false to the following questions:

It is OK to tell a secret someone has told you if:

1. ________ You make the person you tell, swear not to tell anyone else.

2. ________ You don’t like the person the secret is about.

3. ________ The secret is likely to get out anyway.

4. ________ You don’t tell who the secret is about and just say “he” or she” instead of using their name.

5. _______ Keeping the secret means someone could be a danger to themselves or someone else.

6. _______ The secret is something everyone, including the person who told you, will laugh about anyway.

7. _______ People will figure out the secret by tomorrow.

8. _______ The secret is about a person who is planning on bringing a weapon to school.

9. _______ You have a reputation of not being able to keep a secret anyway.

So.......

Are you a good keeper of secrets?

IF you answered TRUE for questions 1,2,3,4,6,7 and 9, then you might want to think about whether your friends should trust you with their secrets. Before they tell you their deepest, darkest secrets, warn them- it could slip out!!

Questions 5 and 8 are secrets that need to be told. Seriously. If someone will get hurt, then these kinds of secrets need to be told to an adult who you feel comfortable talking with. Letting someone in on this kind of secret is REPORTING, not telling.
