Development 11 (CD 11)

Career Development 11 is a full-credit course that is designed to help
young people to further understand and manage themselves, to manage their
personal lives and resources (money included!), and to develop the ability to
organize and shape their careers.
Career Development 11 has four modules to be completed. Each module
builds on those introduced in Career Development 10.
Module
1: Career Awareness

2: Work Cultures

| Investigate employee and employer rights and responsibilities | |
| Investigate the role of unions and other professional organizations | |
| Awareness of issues and resources related to mental health and
workplace balance | |
| Make decisions that reflect an understanding of workplace ethics,
norms and values |
| Make
life/work decisions that balance financial realities | |
| Access
and use resources related to financial management and planning |
| Select
items for and maintain a LifeWork Portfolio |
| Include
items to demonstrate growth in knowledge and skills | |
| Include
items which show the development of a career plan | |

items which show employability |
Career Development 11 is a hands-on course that involves a lot of
in-class work. Attendance is mandatory for success in this course! If time is
missed, it is the responsibility of the student to get the missed work.
