NORTHUMBERLAND REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Throughout the 2008-2009 school year, I worked as a tutor helping students with
the International Baccalaureate (IB) physics program. I held a two hour tutorial
once a week in which I planned and taught material for the higher level IB
physics class.

Throughout the 2007-2008 school year, I was involved in the development
and presentation of a magazine dedicated to the accomplishments of the student
body called Spotlight on Success. I also coached and participated in the
badminton club, and was involved in the development and implementation of
extra help classes for S4 & S5 Math (Grade 10 & 11). In addition to
this I also accompanied a class trip to France as a supervisor.

During my time as a student teacher in the school year of 2005-2006, I was
involved outside of the classroom through the supervision and coaching of the

At these math conferences I had the opportunity to learn different approaches in
teaching limits and fractions. I also examined new initiatives of the Nova
Scotia Department of Education, and explored inclusive learning strategies
through algebra tiles.
