Brainstorm


Objectives: 
  • To determine the level of knowledge that students have about erosion,  volcanoes, tides and lunar influences
  • To encourage participation of all members of the class
  • To find out what the students would like to know about the topic
Procedure:
  • Students work in small groups to list what they know about the general topics of erosion, tides, lunar influences and volcanoes using the general statements of:
What I Know
What I Would Like to Know
  • Students break into larger groups related to the topic in which they are interested to share and learn 
  • As a class, the students review the knowledge already present in their peers
  • Students pose general questions to which they would like answers, as a precursor to the Phase I activities in which they will be immersed in the various topics.

  • Notebooks

  • Chart paper and markers
