What do I need to graduate???
Minimum of 18 credits in grades 10, 11 and 12.
- No more than 7 of the 18 can be counted from Grade 10 credits (although
a student can take more than 7)
- At least 5 must be Grade 12 credits
3 English Language Arts: Grades 10, 11, and 12
1 Fine Arts: Art 10, Drama 10, Music 10
1 Canadian History Credit: Mi'Kmaq Studies 10, Canadian History 11 or African Canadian Studies 11, Histoire du Canada
1 Global Studies Credit: Global History 12, Global Geography 12, or Geographie Planetaire 12 (Immersion)
1 Physically Active Living OR Physical Education Credit, or Mode de Vie Actifs
2 Mathematic credits (Normally 10 and 11)
2 Science Credits (Science 10 plus one from Oceans 11, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Geology)
2 additional credits, not counted above, from Math, Science OR
PLUS 5 ELECTIVES
Academic - These credits are for students who expect to enter college, university, or other post-secondary institutions.
Advanced - These courses are designed to meet the needs of students who have shown an exceptional academic ability or achievement.
Open - Although none of these courses are designed to meet the needs of post-secondary institutions, individual courses may be acceptable at some universities and most are fully acceptable at community college unless otherwise indicated for a program.Graduation - These courses are designed to meet the needs of students who wish to obtain a graduation diploma, with a view to proceeding to employment, or some selected area of post-secondary training.
