My name is
Jared Purdy and I was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
on August 3rd, 1982. I've lived in Yarmouth my entire life and have no
intentions of ever leaving. I graduated from Yarmouth Consolidated
Memorial High
School in 2000 and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University majoring in French.
Upon
completing my degree, I was accepted by the University of Maine
at Presque Isle for their Teacher Certification Degree. I finished my degree in
2005 with a Student Teaching Placement at Yarmouth
Central Elementary and have been here ever since. In the Fall of 2008, I received my Masters in Education Degree in
Leadership from Mount
Saint Vincent University.
I currently teach grade 5/6 French Immersion and I am also the Vice Principal. Aside
from my teaching and administrative duties, I am the Math Mentor within our
school.
Aside from
teaching, I love playing, coaching and watching hockey and some of my other
pastimes are fishing, golf and spending time with my family and friends. My
family includes my father Gerry, my mother Libby, and my younger sister Ashley.
