Grade 6R Comic Strip Assignment

TASK: You will write and
then create a comic strip that shows a possible scenario involving bullying and
an appropriate way of handling the situation.
DUE DATE: Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016
GUIDELINES:
- You will be given
a comic strip template by the teacher that you will use to draw the GOOD
COPY of your comic strip.
- In order to
get a comic strip template from the teacher, you will be required to show
the teacher:
- An idea
brainstorm
- A rough draft
of your comic strip
- A rough draft
of the written part of the assignment that will go on the back of your
good copy (see explanation below)
- You must use
all of the boxes on the comic strip template (6).
- Every box of
your comic strip must contain
- An
illustration AND
- At least one
piece of dialogue (speech bubble)
- Your comic
must show a realistic scenario involving bullying involving elementary school aged people/characters.
- Your comic
must end with the victim of your scenario handling the situation in an
appropriate manner.
- You should use
color on your good copy.
- You should
create a situation and a way of handling it that are realistic (stay away
from cheesy stereotypical situations and responses),
- ON THE BACK OF YOUR COMIC:
- Write one
paragraph (5-7 sentences) telling the type of bullying your comic strip involves and
why you think that the way the victim in your scenario handled the
situation would work in real life.
