2	Brief Life Story Born: August, 4^th 1961 Born in: Honolulu Hawaii Moms name: Ann Dunham Dads name: Barack Obama (named after) Raised in: Kenya where he herded goats. When he was six he moved to Djakarta, Indonesia. Barack's dad returned to Kenya but Barack grew up with his mom in Hawaii and some in Indonesia. In 1983 he graduated from Columbia University. After Collage he moved to Chicago in 1985 and became a community organizer with church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods.

Soon after he returned to Chicago to practice as a Civil rights Lawyer and teach Constitutional Law. Finally, advocacy work lead him to run Illinois State Senate were he served eight years. In 2004 he became the third African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the US senate. His wife, Michelle, and his two daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6, live on Chicago’s South Side now where they attend Trinity United Church of Christ. Barack Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, spoke to America for the first time as a President Elect. He became the nation’s first African American president when he was sworn into office on Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009.
4	Major Accomplishments and Awards . In 1983 Barack Obama had graduated with a degree in political science. In 1990 Barack Obama became the first African-American editor of the Harvard Law Review. In 2000 Barack Obama made his first bid for U.S. Congress. In 2004 Barack Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate as a Democrat. In 2006 Barack Obama won a Grammy award for the Best Spoken Word for the CD version of his autobiography “Dreams From My Father”. In 2008 Barack Obama won his second Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for “The Audacity of Hope In 2009 He was Elected the first African American President.
5	Our Personal reflection about Barak Obama We think Barack Obama is a very successful man who has worked very hard in life. He has won 2 Grammy Awards which shows true talent. He deserves to be the first African American President of the USA.
