2	Life story His family escaped from Kentucky via the underground railroad they were searching for freedom and a new home. He was raised on a farm as a free Canadian. He liked to take machines apart and put them back together His parents saved money to send him to a mechanical engineering school when he was 15 His parents were escaped slaves and came to Canada in the underground railroad
3	Elijah McCoy He was born May 2 1843 died October 10 1929 Born in Colchester Ontario He had 11 brothers, sisters a mom and dad Died in the Eloise Infirmary in Michigan Died in Detroit, Michigan His parents sent him to engineering school He was the oil man for a train
4	Major accomplishments and awards He invented the atomic lubricator The lubricator is a oil machine that takes oil through a train
5	Why he is important Hannah : I think he is important because his parents escaped from Kentucky through the underground railroad to Canada to find freedom. Dominique : I think he is important because he invented the atomic lubricator and used it to oil the train.
