No 2. Construction Battalion’ s life story
  • Started: July 5 1916
  • Ended: January of 1919
  • Where: Pictou county (Truro)
  • Conditions: It was very hard and some would get sick and sometimes die
  • Schooling: They trained in Pictou
  • Work: Dug trenches, cut lumber, made train tracks and put up barb wire

Major Accomplishments
  • They served for their country in World War One
  • They had pride for their country
  • Many soldiers died but they still stood strong
  • They became a Battalion
  • Even though they were black they still tried to get in the army
  • They were the only all- black battalion in history

Personal Reflection
  • Taylor: They were very brave and they took lots of racism
  • Taylor: They were very kind to one another
  • Taylor: They stood up to racism
  • Brogan: When one person was sick they cared for him
  • Brogan: Proud black Americans that had pride in their country
  • Brogan: they were the bravest battalion I ever heard of
