  • Sam Langford, Walter Langford, Sophia Langford, Annie M. Langford, Robert Amos Langford, Ellen May Langford, Charles Joseph Langford were children of charlotte Robart and Robert Langford.
  • Sam Langford did not go to school.
  • He ran away from home and got involved in manual  labor.
  • Sam often got in fights.

  • Sam Langford fought in 314 fights. He won 200 fights 130 of those fights he won by knock outs. He lost 47 fights and tied 46 fights. Sam Langford was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 1955

Personal Reflection
  • Logan: I thought he was important because he was one of the first African American to box.


  • TJ: I think Sam Langford is important because he kept boxing although he was often discriminated.
