1864 in Nova Scotia. |

Rose Fortune’s parents were Black Loyalists that
came to Nova Scotia when Rose was ten where they were given their freedom. |

Rose Fortune was a slave so she didn’t get any
education. |

|

The significance of Rose Fortune is she was the
first Black policewomen in Canada. |
|
|
|
|
The Emperor Napoleon lived the same time as Rose
Fortune. He was born in 1761 and died 1821. |
