When Christmas is celebrated
In Great Britain they celebrate Christmas on December 25.
The estimated population in 2006 was 50 803 000.
They speak English & say “Happy Christmas”.
Christmas Tree
In Great Britain there is a tree and it is decorated with fruits,nuts, candy & roses.
Father Christmas
Father Christmas wears a long red or green robe.  He leaves presents in stockings not usually opened until the afternoon.
Christmas characters
Father Christmas wears a long red or green robe with sprigs of holly in his long white hair.Elves wear overalls , a T-shirt, a pointy hat and shoes .
Traditional Foods
The traditional food of Great Britain is plum pudding.
 250 g. rice
Sweetened Water
Sugar
125 g. raisins or sultanas & a handful of nuts
Put rice in saucepan of boiling ,sweetened  water & simmer until no water is left.  Add remaining ingredients . Sweetened to taste.
Presents
Good children get presents & bad children get coal.
Christmas Carols
There are a lot of very famous British Christmas carols and songs. The most famous religious carols are: "Oh come all ye faithful", "The first Noel" and "The Holly and the Ivy". The most popular non religious Christmas songs are: "We wish you a merry Christmas", "Little Drummer boy" and "The Twelve days of Christmas".

In Great Britain the first person to visit a home shouts “first footing”.After Christmas sometimes families make a dish called “Bubble and squeak”this is a combination  of mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts from dinner.
