6th Grade Illuminated Letter

Clay Plaques

After creating an Illuminated Letter Drawing, the students transferred their ideas to slabs of 8" x 10" clay. The classes then coiled, built, carved and embellished the slabs to create these beautiful relief plaques. The plaques are painted with tempera paint and were protected with a clear acrylic spray.
