Seeds planted Sept. 20 and 21, 2004
Friday Sept. 24, 2004 about 1/2 of the plastic tops were removed because of Germination of one or more plants
The Marigolds sprouted showing their dicotyledons (2) seed leaves. These are not true leaves.
This shows the true leaves after they appeared with the dicotyledons beneath.
As the plants grew they added more layers of leaves to their tops.
Many of our plants experienced stress when not watered on time.
Unfortunately we incurred a spider mite infection, and after several unsuccessful attempts to get rid of them, had to dispose of the plants before they contaminated other plants.
We have close-up movies of these spider mites taken with the Intel Play QX3+ Computer Microscope, Tuesday, November 16, 2004.
