The males average 7-9ft long and 5ft high at the
shoulder. A male weighs 900lb to the maximum over half a ton. |
|
The females are smaller and about 700lb. |
|
All Polar Bears have a long head, small ears
along neck, strong legs, big feet with hairy soles and a stump for a tail.
Their coats are white and yellowish it’s made up of long hairs and dense
under fur. |

They eat young walruses .Fish,seabirds sometimes
eggs and also dead animals but there favorite food is seals,especially the
ringed seals. |

Most Polar Bears live along the coasts of the
Artic region .They usually live in a den in the snow. That’s where they
sleep all winter. |

|

|
The Polar Bear is an excellent swimmer. |
|
They have oily thick fur that shields water and
helps insulate the bear against the cold |
|
They have a thick protective layer of fat more
than three inches thick on back, buttocks and thighs |
|
The Polar Bear cubs stay with there mothers for
two years. |
|
A Polar Bear spends most of it life alone, hunting seals and ect. |
