Hall’s Life

Hall was born in 1827 at Horton,Nova Scotia where he also attended school.  He grew up during the age of wooden ships ,when many boy’s dreamed of traveling the world.  Hall worked in shipyard at Hantsport for several years as a young man building wooden ships for the merchant marine.  Before he was eighteen he had visited most of the worlds important ports.  He received British and Turkish medal.Hall volunteered for the Royal Navy before 1852 and then was decorated in the Crimean war in 1854-55.
