TREE DECORATION
Most people use artificial trees, because to buy a real one is really expensive
People decorate their trees with bells, socks, balls with different colors, at the top they put a big star or an angel, and some lights that flash in different colors.

BABY JESUS
Baby Jesus gives the children their presents on Christmas Eve, he leaves the presents on their beds.
They sing songs to baby Jesus.
The Holy Family is the main characters of Christmas in Colombia
Meals in Colombia
The traditional food  that is eaten is sometimes likely to include chicken, Roast pork, salads, tamales, corn, and rice cakes.
Dessert can include natilla or bunnuelos crusted as well as fruit, cookies, and cakes.

PRESENTS
In early December the children write the letters to baby Jesus (not Santa Claus), they thank him for everything they have, apologize for anything they have done bad, and then ask for what they want for Christmas.
On Christmas morning they receive a letter from Jesus telling them if they were good or bad.
Unique to Colombia
Christmas celebrations start on December 1st and continue until mid January, everyday has a its own celebration.
The nine days before Christmas is called ‘Novena’, traditionally it is spend as family time. Dinners, prayers, singing and visiting is done at each family members home the nine days before Christmas.
