package of pencils (Eagle or Venus recommended)
erasers - white (not novelty as these usually do not work well and serve as toys)  Clip Art: Schoolboy Overloaded with Books and Supplies

2 or 3 hi-liters (different colours)
30 cm ruler
scissors - quality pair
Protractor for measuring angles

4 - binders and loose leaf ( there will be lots of handouts ) for Math  2" binder (divided into sections for Math, Mental Math, and Problem of the Week), Language Arts  2" binder (divided into sections with dividers for Language, Writing, and Novel Study/Literature Circle), Multi-subject 2" binder (Health, Research, Science, and Social Studies with dividers),
1" binder for Music;  1 (32 page) ruled Hillroy scribbler for French.
2 packages of 3 ring binder dividers to be used as noted above, and at other times.
1 package of reinforcements
1 Plastic tote to put under seat to hold supplies, Rubbermaid 53L #2212 ( 61X40.6X31.8cm ) (14.5" or 37cm is too tall to fit) recommended
1 box of Kleenex (per administrative newsletter of June 2000)
“Dry Strip” cover up (optional), there is a School Board policy against using liquid White-Out
For gym - Gym sneakers (indoor) non-marking or white soles, and T-shirt long enough to tuck in, shorts, or sweat pants.

Please put names on everything!!!! including lunch kits, sneakers, jackets, hats, etc. When something ends up on the floor or in/on someone else’s desk... they all look the same.

New, for some students, will be Literature Circles in which the students will read the same novel in small groups. Students are requested to purchase a novel from the Book Club order (or from another source),  two-three times this year, which a group of 4 or 5 have selected to read. The first order will be placed in September for October Literature Circles.
